AVSEDplus is a dementia activity service, designed to be a natural step between independent community services and full day care services.

 

AVSEDplus provides fun, stimulating and therapeutic daytime activities, company and support to those living with dementia and memory impairment in a safe, friendly, community-based environment, whilst offering families and carers some much-needed respite time.

We follow AVSED’s regular programme of physical activities, shared meals, therapeutic activities and supported social time - all designed for different engagement levels. Each individual can find their own comfort level in AVSEDplus, through a person-centred, cognitive-appropriate programme delivered by a trained, caring and understanding staff & volunteer team.

AVSED recognises the importance of a person’s journey and AVSEDplus was developed through member feedback and needs to support our members through the early stages of their dementia journey.

AVSEDplus is open to anyone with mild to moderate memory impairment and those with respite needs. Our team will provide a full assessment of needs before a placement is offered, to ensure everyone’s safety and to ensure the service is right for you.

The service takes place at Greenacre Hall.

​​​

Session times are Tuesday & Thursday, 10am – 3pm.

Sessions will include:

• Welcome Drinks

• Physical Activity

• Elevenses

• Therapeutic Activity

• Shared Lunch

• Social Activity

• Afternoon Tea.

The cost per session is £50.

You may be eligible for financial support to help pay for AVSEDplus through

• ASC Assessment for Care Needs.
