Befriender
Our Current Volunteer Opportunities
Befriender
Can you spare an hour for to relieve loneliness?

Along with providing exercise, social activities, dementia and inclusion groups, trips, and fish and chips on a Friday, we provide an important befriending service to our more lonely or isolated members.

Spending up to an hour a week at a time that suits you and your partner, a befriender helps provide company, friendship, and a connection to the outside world. Being a listening ear, someone to reminisce with, play games, share skills, hobbies and stories, a volunteer befriender is an important and rewarding role here at AVSED.
